mosaïek* is an independent culture magazine. we’re about writing, art, workshops, & printed issues, field notes, social sciences, essays, experiments, interviews & strange ideas.
What we are. An independent, non-profit, student-run association based in Maastricht, focused on education through writing and the arts.
What we make. Printed magazines, online articles, workshops, events and temporary spaces where culture, politics, image-making and personal research can sit at the same table.
What we look for. People with questions, drafts, images, field notes, obsessions and the patience to turn them into something generous.

Mosaïek is a magazine, but it behaves more like a meeting place.
We publish work that moves between disciplines: essays next to photo series, interviews next to visual experiments, academic questions next to personal observations. The point is not to flatten those differences, but to let them touch.
Based around FASoS and the wider Maastricht student community, mosaïek* gives young writers, artists, editors and organisers a place to learn by making. We edit together, print together, host conversations together and try to make culture feel less distant.
The magazine is for slow attention. For ideas that are not finished yet. For people who want to understand the world by composing a page, organising a room, asking a better question, or making something that can be held.

Writers, artists, researchers and organisers think differently together. We welcome work that crosses forms and fields, because the most interesting ideas rarely stay on one shelf.

We value the traces of real people: imperfect drafts, careful edits, tactile pages and choices made with attention. Culture should feel made, not manufactured.

A magazine can be a place to stand beside one another. We build relationships between contributors and readers, share knowledge and make room for voices too often pushed aside.
